School Uniform
From September 2025, all students at Southfield School will be expected to arrive in full school uniform and with the correct equipment, ready to learn each day.
Expectations from September 2025
Students will be required to wear full school uniform, which includes:
*Outdoor coat (removed indoors – no denim, leather or fur jackets)
- School blazer (with year group colour patch – provided by school) – lanyards will no longer be required
- White Blouse
- Southfield tartan skirt or Southfield school trousers
- Sensible black school shoes (no trainers, canvas or Crocs)
- Neutral/natural makeup and nails
- No extreme hairstyles or unnatural hair colours
- Piercings: maximum two studs per ear and one small nose stud (no other piercing)
- Students are permitted: One ring, one bracelet, and a watch
Students will change at school for PE and active subjects, rather than wearing kit all day.
The PE kit includes:
- Southfield branded hoodie
- School-coloured polo or t-shirt (black, grey or white)
- Black shorts or leggings?
*If students are going outside at break or lunchtime, coats should only be put on as they go out of the door and should be taken off before they enter the building.
Cost of Living Consideration
We understand the pressures many families face. To support this, we have reduced our branded uniform to just three compulsory items:
- School blazer
- Southfield tartan skirt or school trousers
- Southfield branded hoodie (for activewear)
This brings us in line with upcoming Department for Education guidance on affordable school uniform (DfE 2026). Non-branded alternatives are permitted where appropriate for other items.

We will also have additional lockers available to hire from September to support students carrying books, equipment and kit.

Healthy Active Kit
Students will change at school for PE and active subjects, rather than wearing kit all day. The PE Healthy Active kit includes:
- Southfield branded hoodie
- School-coloured polo or t-shirt (black, grey or white)
- Black shorts or leggings
- Trainers
Please note that tight fitting black cycle shorts should only be worn underneath regular shorts and not on their own.

- Wired headphones (not airpods or similar) with a 3.5mm jack
- Pens – black for writing
- Pen – green for self-assessment
- Pencil
- Colouring Pencils – small selection
- Ruler (30cm)
- Pencil Sharpener
- Pencil Eraser
- A protractor and pair of compasses
- Highlighter
- Glue Stick
- Pencil Case for the above
- Scientific calculator
- Hair Band – to tie back long hair in Science, Healthy Living and Art
