Student Leadership

'Great Leaders do not set out to be leaders, they set out to make a difference'

•To empower students to represent the student community and work in partnership with staff towards shared ambitions.

•To support all students to feel a sense of belonging through student representation and a commitment to inclusion.

•To strengthen the school ethos and further bind our community culture.

•To empower student voice and action to uphold and represent the core British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith. Moreover, to uphold and represent the school values of Optimism, Resilience, Balance, Individuality and Synergy.

•To provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills through a variety of inspiring, challenging and valued projects which impact positively on learning, teaching and well-being for both students and staff at Southfield School.

•To enable communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking to flourish as the school community benefits from the wealth of experiences, ideas and sense of fun that students bring.

Head student

"Hello, my name is Lara and I am Head Student at Southfield School. I study Psychology, Applied Science and Health and Social Care. I aspire to become a Nursing Officer in the Royal Air Force once I finish Year 13. I have attended Southfield since Year 7, and, throughout my time here, I have thrived considerably as an individual. This is because Southfield revolves around the school values of Optimism, Resilience, Balance, Individuality and Synergy. These values, alongside all of our staff, teach every student how to be their best self as well as achieve their dreams. Having being part of the  Southfield community for six years, I couldn’t be prouder to represent such an outstanding school as Head Student."
