On Monday 20th November 2017, 54 Year 10 students went to The Stahl Theatre in Oundle to watch a production of Jekyll and Hyde, which they are studying for their GCSE Literature course.
The play was a cause for debate as it was a rather different adaptation of the text, with female characters taking a major role. However it was useful in setting the scene of Victorian London, exploring the perils of scientific progress and tackling the themes of good and evil.
The girls enjoyed it, particularly the “slow motion murder scene”, the “comfy seats” and the “transformation of Jekyll into Hyde for the first time”.
