Year 10- Food Healthy Living
All year 10 students continue to develop knowledge and practical skills centred around building awareness of nutrition and balanced diets.
GCSE AQA- Food Preparation & Nutrition
AQA GCSE-Food preparation & Nutrition:
Content covered; Food nutrition and health, food science, food safety, food choice, food provenance. Task1: written or electronic report of approx. 2000 words including evidence of practical investigation. Task 2: Food preparation assessment, students will demonstrate their knowledge of planning, preparation, cooking, presentation and application of nutrition related to task. Portfolio of evidence submitted includes written and photographic evidence.
Preparation for written external exam 50%- Multiple choice questions and five questions with a number of sub questions.
Year 10- Textiles
AQA GCSE- Textiles; Art & Design:
Your chance to design products for woven, knitted, stitched, printed or decorative textiles. Areas of study include fashion design and illustration, costume design, constructed textiles, printed, dyed and digital textiles. Introduction to the course AO’s and focus on development of key skills for example how to analyse and critically reflect and refine ideas in response to work as it evolves.
Begin component 1 60%: Portfolio which will comprise of mini investigations exploring skills and a sustained project from a given starting point.
