COVID-19 Protective measures

This section provides details of the re-opening of the school for all students in all year groups full-time from September 2020 in accordance with government guidance.

The school has remained open from the beginning of the lockdown period, 23 Mar 20, for key worker and vulnerable children, with Year 10 and 12 students, also, attending in Term 6.  This was in addition to the variety and scale of ‘remote’ learning that took place during this time for all year groups.  Our thorough planning and comprehensive range of protective measures have ensured that the school was able to operate safely, effectively and in line with government guidance during this period.  All of this was made possible by the cooperation and collaboration of school staff, students, parents/carers and other stakeholders.  Particular thanks to all parents/carers who completed the recent online consultation; your input was invaluable in shaping our re-opening planning.

The plan is now focused on providing a full curriculum, whilst putting in place enhanced protective measures to ensure the safety of the school community from 01 Sep 20.  There will, therefore, be some limitations on students taking part in practical and physical activities.  However, these plans, as always, will depend upon the ever changing situation with regard to Coronavirus and, therefore, may change.  Obviously, should this be the case we will continue to provide parents/carers with updated information and plans.
