The Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering is taking part in a nationwide programme of exhibitions and events to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts (RA).
To contribute to these nationwide celebrations, the gallery is exhibiting works by Royal Academicians held within their permanent collection. Accompanying the RA 250 is an exhibition showcasing local young talent supported by Southfield School, Brooke Weston Academy, Lodge Park Academy and Bishop Stopford School.
Southfield School have six artworks on display created by our A level and GCSE students.
The artists are Hollie Armstrong (Yr13), Alicia Gioia (Yr13), Sophie Carter (Yr 12), Jordan Elliot (Yr 12), Faye Middleton (Yr 11) and Jessica Lewis (Year 11).
As a department we are very proud of the creativity and devotion all our art students demonstrate and it was a shame there was not enough wall space to exhibit more.
The exhibition is on until the 24th of February and well worth a visit.
Admission is free.
